“I am a dyslexia assessor and this book is brilliant! It uses a dyslexia-friendly font, spaced out lines, non-white backgrounds and lots of visuals. Perfect presentation elements for those with dyslexia. The recipes look mouth-watering and I can’t wait to get cooking! Great job Nick.”

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Bald Chef Nick

Bald Chef Nick is a Dyslexic Chef who lives by the sea in Brighton, a place he describes as heaven on earth.

As a child he was painfully shy, sent to the back of the classroom in school and thought of as being stupid.

Nick loves to cook.

Realising his life-long ambition he went back to school in 2020 to qualify as a professional chef.

While studying he used a lifetime of self-taught learning techniques to help him cope and read and the idea of a dyslexic cook book was born: “Deliciously Dyslexic”.

At sixty years old, Bald Chef Nick now finds himself at one of the most exciting times of his life.

This is the first book he has written and through his writing the first he has ever read.

“This is a fun book to read, I’m no chef but it’s easy to see that Nick has put his heart and soul into this cookbook and because of this it’s such an entertaining read. The thought which has gone in to the whole project comes across in the easy-to-read pages which are complemented by his humorous writing and the outstanding illustrations and photographs. The recipes are explained in simple ways and his joy of cooking is evident in the descriptions. It’s a worthy coffee-table book as well as an inspiration for anyone with an inclination to cook!”

“Deliciously Dyslexic is an absolute joy to read and use. Nick shares his personal journey with dyslexia in such an honest and inspiring way, and his recipes are tasty, colourful, and wonderfully easy to follow. There are so many showstoppers, but my favourite has to be The Flaming Sphere!

As a dyslexia specialist and assessor, I know just how valuable this book is. I’ll be recommending it to children and their parents as both uplifting and practical.”
